3 Strategies That Made This Year The Most Profitable EverIf you read my Things I Wish I Knew column, or you are a member of the Boss Lady, Esq. group, you already know that by the end of this month I will have exceeded my entire 2017 revenue (yay!!).  I credit this success to several strategies I have implemented/ put more effort into in 2018. This simple change has helped to make this the best year ever for Joleena Louis Law.

Strategic One on Ones

One of the things I’ve done more of this year that has had the biggest return on investment is scheduling one on one coffees or lunches with strategically selected referral sources who share my ideal client.  I find that I build relationships better one on one and these relationships have typically resulted in more high-quality referrals.  See also: Want more referrals for your law firm? Here's what to do.  Every week I try to meet with one new referral source and touch base with one source I already have a relationship with.

Outsourcing Everything

The other strategy that has helped increase my revenue this year has been to outsource as much as possible. I have a really difficult time letting go of control and outsourcing has been one of the most difficult obstacles I’ve had to overcome in my practice.  But once I really started to delegate without micromanaging, I started to have more time to focus on money making activities.  I use a virtual receptionist service to handle calls (tell them I sent you), I use a virtual assistant to handle admin tasks, and I now have a VA to handle many of my marketing tasks. I pay for these services as I use them so I’m not burdened with the obligations of meeting payroll every week.

Automating As Much As Possible

Lastly, I’ve put a lot more reliance on using tech to automate as much as possible. I shared with you on my last post about using acuity for scheduling consultations and phone calls. I also use tools like Lexicata and MyCase to streamline my client intake and keep my cases moving with very little work on my end. While these particular strategies may or may not work for your practice, I hope they inspire you to test out some changes of your own this quarter. What have you done to boost your revenue this year?
